Welcome to the SJSU Writing Center

We are open this summer, from June 1 through to August 6.

Starting on June 1, 2021 (at the beginning of the summer session), the Writing Center will be changing the way in which students join their online tutoring sessions. We have made this change for two reasons:

(1) to create a simpler, more streamlined process; and

(2) to accommodate more students and allow for the scheduling of same-day appointments (up to one hour before the appointment start time).

Starting on June 1, we will no longer send Google Calendar iCal invitations to student email addresses; instead, students will simply login to our online appointment system to access the Zoom link for their online tutoring session.

Scheduling an Appointment
Once you have registered, you can use WCOnline to schedule a tutoring session.
Check WCOnline every evening at 9:00 PM (standard time, from November to March) or 10:00 PM (daylight savings time, from March to November), or early morning if possible. Our schedule is released a day at a time, up to five working days ahead. For example, on Thursday at 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM (depending on standard or daylight savings time), you will be able to see next Thursday's schedule and availability.
Canceling an Appointment
If you need to cancel a tutoring session, please do so in advance online (through this appointment reservation system).
Online Resources
For out-of-hours support, the Homegrown Handouts, video tutorials, and downloadable resources on our website are available to all SJSU students for easy, remote access at any time.
